Alternative delivery is becoming preferred delivery to accelerate schedule, reduce cost, and increase collaboration between clients, contractors, and engineers.
Project demands and industry standards are evolving, and as a result, traditional project delivery methods are changing as well. As clients and owners are faced with the necessity of doing more with less, while delivering projects in shorter timeframes, they are increasingly turning to alternative delivery, particularly design-build (D-B) to deliver both large and small projects.
From Maine to Florida, VHB is a leader in delivering D-B transportation projects, designing high-profile roadway, bridge, transit, and rail projects along the East Coast for more than 20 years. We consistently deliver high-quality, innovative, and timely design and construction services. Since the Boston “Big Dig” in the 1990s, we’ve partnered with clients to deliver complex D-B projects, including seven, first-ever D-B projects for owners.
VHB focuses on developing an integrated design and construction team that operates and communicates seamlessly. We’ve also supported clients by serving as their owner’s representative, developing RFPs, serving on selection committees, developing DOT manuals and trainings, and reviewing D-B team submittals. This broad experience provides us with a deep understanding of clients’ concerns and focus areas.
From inception to completion, VHB knows how to be effective in delivering D-B services and mitigating risk throughout the process. As design lead, an alternative delivery team partner, or as part of the owner’s representative team, we work to streamline project delivery and find the right solutions to improve mobility, increase connectivity, and enhance communities.
